Description

The Research Practicums are formative assessments that allow instructors to monitor each student’s progress, evaluate their skills, identify areas of strength and areas to target, provide immediate individualized feedback, and recognize areas where groups of students may struggle. This 30-minute program will demo an abbreviated version of a Research Practicum, showing attendees the value and function of the live assessment format.

Speaker Bio

Olivia Smith Schlinck joined Cardozo School of Law in January 2021 as the Instructional & Legal Technologies Librarian. She is responsible for creating and managing Cardozo’s instructional program, including Advanced Legal Research, a required upper-level course. Since January 2021, she has implemented many changes and is always looking for ways to improve the course overall. Olivia received her J.D. from the CUNY School of Law and her M.L.S. from Queens College’s Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, both in New York. Olivia’s interests include innovation in research instruction and equity in legal education.
